The location was the local shopping center's parking lot.
Fenced off with some plastic screens hanging from a steel rope, so that only those with tickets would be able to watch. Of course all the trees around the parking lot are higher than the screens, so two dozen boys and girls climbed the trees and watched for free.
The show was pretty awesome, considering the confined area they had available. Motorcycles flying high, cars rolling over, and even a small monster-truck to smash the remnants of the two old cars that were rendered useless during the stunts.
